LECTURERS

Jean-Luc Berenguer
International School in Valbonne, Sophia Antipolis, France
Teacher of biology and geology, He is also coordinator for the French educational seismological network ‘Sismos à l’Ecole’. He also supervises the teachers’ training program in geosciences and is member of the EGU Committee of Education.

Antonella Bobbio
Technician at National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Italy
She works on development and implementation of software modules aimed at processing of seismic data, seismic data analysis and testing and management of seismic instrumentation used in educational activities.

Paul Denton
Scientist at British Geological Survey, United Kingdom
He has set up and runs the UK school seismology project, this has involved working closely with educational experts, teachers and university earth science departments across the UK. Paul Denton has experience of working with large multinational groups on seismic research fieldwork projects in Europe and Africa.

Antonio Emolo
Assistant Professor at Department of Physics  University of Naples Federico II, Italy
His research activity concerns: forward and inverse modeling approaches to the seismic source modeling; seismic instruments; signal analysis: early warning; deterministic and probabilistic seismic hazard analysis.

Gaetano Festa
Assistant Professor at Department of Physics  University of Naples Federico II, Italy
His activity is focussed on numerical modeling of wave propagation: spectral element method and absorbing boundary conditions; numerical simulation of rupture dynamics; kinematic inversion of seismic sources and early warning.

Anthony Lomax
Independent seismological and software consultant, ALomax Scientific, France
He is interested in new methodologies for 1) determination of earthquake locations, 2) analysis and relocation of early-instrumental earthquakes; 3) global-search optimization and inverse methods, 4) non-linear, global search earthquake location in 3D structures; 5) Internet based, seismological analysis software in Java.

Anne Sauron
Associate Professor at ETH Zurich, Switzerland
Her activity is focussed on the study of rupture's phenomena and scaling laws in the Earth crust. She is developing a seismic network for schools and a pedagogical approaches for teachers at school through the program “Seismo at School” in Switzerland.

Stefano Solarino
First Researcher at National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Italy
Responsible on behalf of the subcontractor INGV for the installation of seismic, meteo and hydro facilities in schools within the O3E project; several experiences of education in schools (environmental risks, scientific aspects, safety).

Aldo Zollo
Full Profesor at Department of Physics, University of Naples Federico II, Italy
He is mainly involved in resercah activities related to seimic fracture modelling; seimic wave propagation; study of soil strong-motion through accelerogram analysis; volcano structures; seimic exploration of the subsoil for hydrocarbon location; seismic early-warning.
