Durante le lectures verranno affrontati i seguenti temi:
- the origin of earthquakes, the elastic rebound model and its modern versions based on the coupling of active seismic zones
- seismic radiation models for simple and complex earthqakes; barriers and asperities
- the shear crack model of an earthquake, a versatile approach to an integrated understanding of earthquake propagation, interaction and generation of seismic waves
- use of modern seismic and geodetic data for imaging earthquake propagation
- generation of tsunamis and large scale deformation of subduction zones
- intraplate seismicity: the difficulties of study inginfrequent ruptures.
