Ricerca sulla meccanica delle faglie, e le sue conseguenze sulla sorgente dei terremoti. Questo studio integra tre approcci: quello sperimentale, su rocce e materiali analogici, per caratterizzare le leggi di attrito; quello di terreno, dove vengono effettuati rilevamenti su affioramenti di faglie fossili; e infine quello della simulazione -attraverso modelli matematici e numerici (al calcolatore)- di propagazione dinamica della frattura.

Involved in research into the mechanics of faults and their consequences on the source of earthquakes. This study integrates three approaches: one experimental, on the rock and analogous materials to characterise the friction laws; another on the soil, where samples are taken of the fossil faults at the surface; and finally, one of simulation of the propagation dynamics of fractures through mathematical and numerical modelling.  Now He is working at INGV (Rome) - National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology
