ISNet - Irpinia Seismic Network

A prototype system for earthquake early-warning and alert management in southern Italy

The Irpinia Seismic Network (ISNet) is deployed in Southern Apennines along the active fault system responsible for the 1980, November 23, M S 6.9 Campania–Lucania earthquake.

MATRIX

New multi-hazard and multi-risk assessment methods for europe

The core objective of the proposed MATRIX project is to develop methods and tools to tackle multiple natural hazards in a common framework. This will allow future analysts to optimise the risk assessment process, will contribute to rationalising data management for hazards and vulnerability reduction, and will support cost-effective decisions on structural and non-structural mitigation/adaptation measures in a multi-hazard perspective.

Geothermal Engineering Integrating Mitigation of Induced Seismicity in Reservoirs

The aim of the project is to contribute to the improvement of the concept of Enhanced Geothermal Systems by addressing the need to investigate the role of induced seismicity, which is twofold: • as an instrument to image fluid pathways induced by hydraulic stimulation treatments, which has been done to some extent in previous projects; and • as an implication of such treatments to potential seismic hazards.

Lo sviluppo e la messa a punto di tecniche di analisi dei dati e modelli di predizione per la definizione dell’unrest vulcanico risulta notoriamente più difficile per i vulcani ‘dormienti’, caratterizzati da eruzioni poco frequenti e spesso ad elevato carattere esplosivo.
